Favorite Fall Lip Products-High End with Swatches and Reviews!

Sorry it's been a minute, ya'll! Life kind of got in the way. And by life, I mean I have been so sick the last week or so. But I'm FINALLY(knock on wood) starting to feel better so I thought I would go ahead and get this post up! Sorry I haven't posted my other affordable fall look. I used a few Super Shock Eye Shadows from Colourpop in the look and they decided not to stock them anymore. I didn't want to put a look up on here and then ya'll not be able to purchase the products to recreate it because I know how much that sucks! I will be doing another look though, and that will be up probably this weekend.

Anyway, back to today's post! I have seen a lot of fellow beauty blogs, Instagrams, Youtubers, etc etc etc posting their favorite fall lip products/colors, so I decided to go ahead and post mine, I decided to split it up in to two different blog posts: One for high end products, another for more affordable/drugstore products. I will also be posting reviews on each product, links to said products, and pricing as well. So without further ado, let's get this started!

Just a quick overview before I go into more detail on each product and swatch. This fall I am LOVING brown and berry toned lip products. There is just something about a rich brown or deep burgundy lip that just screams Fall to me, I also have a couple of favorite nude and pink toned lip products that I think are perfect for the fall because, let's be honest, there are days where I don't feel like rocking a burgundy or brown lip. Plus, everyone needs a good nude lip in their makeup collection just as a staple!

Nudes,Pinks, & Browns

Naughty Nude Lip Creme Color-Too Faced- (Priced at $22.00 USD)- This is a nice chestnut toned nude that I think is perfect for the fall. It's got a slight pink undertone to it, which I feel is what makes it wearable on so many skin tones. I have the hardest time finding a good nude for my skin tone(which is pale as snow) and most of the time give up because they are either too dark, or they are too light(hello, concealer lips!). I also really love the formula of this product as well. It's super creamy and very pigmented. The wear time on it is standard for a cream based lipstick, but it fades away nicely and also touches up well. Definitely a staple nude!

Rapture-Urban Decay- ( Priced at $22.00 USD)- This is a beautiful dusty rose and another favorite of mine. This is part of Urban Decay's Revolution Lipstick collection(not the newer, matte collection) so it has a creamy, semi glossy finish. It goes on so smooth, the color is super pigmented, and the finish is a nice step away from the usual matte lip that seems to be a fall staple(don't let that statement fool you, I love a me a matte lip!). Again, with the formula being a creamier glossy one it doesn't have the longevity of a matte lip so you will have to touch up occasionally.

Melted Fig Liquified Long Wear Lipstick-Too Faced- (Priced at $21.00USD)- Confession time: I have an obsession with Too Faced's Melted Lipsticks. They were one of my first high end purchases and hold a very special place in my heart. Melted Fig is a gorgeous dusty rose color with a hint of purple(I swear I explain colors so much better than this usually). The formula of this product is so awesome as well. It dries to a satin finish, is easy to apply, super pigmented, and wears for a good amount of time. I also love the packaging on this product. As you can see in the photo above, it comes in a squeezable tube with an angled sponge applicator on the end. The sponge tip makes it super easy to apply without a lip liner. A little goes a long way with this product as well, so you get your money's worth, that's for sure!

Catherdral Studded Kiss Lipstick-Kat Von D- (Priced at $21.00USD)- This is a cult favorite for Kat Von D Beauty and it's very clear as to why. This color is just stunning. It's a rosy brown color and perfect for the fall. It goes on matte and stays for a super long time, is very pigmented, applies so smooth, and is not drying on the lips at all(like some matte lipsticks can be.). Plus, the packaging is super unique as well.

1995-Gerard Cosmetics- ($19.00USD)- This lip color was created by Jaclyn Hill for Gerard Cosmetics. While Jaclyn is no longer an affiliate with Gerard, the color still remains on their website and is a beautiful color. I usually am not a fan of GC's lipsticks, but the formula on this one is just amazing. The color is a brown color with red undertones. The color reminds me of the lip color that Monica Geller from Friends wore throughout the show so the name is very appropriate. It is a matte formula, but is not drying in the least and the color payoff is good as well.

Lolita Everlasting Liquid Lipstick-Kat Von D- ($20.00USD)- This is another cult favorite of the Kat Von D Beauty line and there is a good reason why. First off, Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are the BEST(in my opinion) of the liquid lipsticks on the market right now. They apply amazing, dry very quickly, stay on all day(through eating and drinking), and aren't drying at all. Lolita, to me, is a staple for everyone's makeup collection. It's a beautiful pinky brown shade and looks great on any skin tone. Definitely a must have color!

Whirl-MAC Cosmetics- ($17.00USD)- This is a fall staple and a VERY popular lip color in the beauty world. This is what most people would describe as the "Kylie Jenner" lip color. It's a stunning brown shade and the quality is awesome(as all MAC lipsticks are), and it just applies so nicely. It is a matte finish but I don't find it too drying on the lips, though I would recommend using the Whirl lip liner along with this lipstick, as it is such a pigmented color.

Berries and Burgundies
Grandest Grape Intense Chubby Stick-Clinique- ($17.00USD)- First off, I love Chubby Sticks in any form(original or intense). I think they are just super easy to apply and reapply and are great for on the go touch ups. This color to me just screams fall time. It's a nice raspberry color and very daytime appropriate. The formula is like a balm so you do have to touch up during the day like after you eat a meal or drink a big drink. Like I said, though, super easy to reapply especially on the go. It has a balmy, glossy finish and feels so hydrating on your lips. If you are in the market for a berry toned lip, but don't want anything too dark or bold, this is a good product for you.

Aubergine Matte Creme Lip Crayon-Bite Beauty- ($24.00USD)- I love Bite Beauty products for a couple of reasons. One is their products are amazing and gluten free. Two is that they are a natural lip care company that uses food grade ingredients to create their products. Basically, you could eat your lipstick(though, I wouldn't recommend it...). Their Matte Creme Lip Crayons are where it's at though. They are so hydrating on the lips that you forget you're wearing a matte lip at all. They are waterproof as well, which means they last an extremely long time on the lips. Aubergine is a stunning eggplant color that is what I imagine a fall lip should be. The color is super pigmented, and the way the crayon is designed makes it super easy to apply this darker color without mistakes. I use it to line my lips, then go a fill in the rest of my lip after that. If there is one product you get off this whole blog post, get this one. You will not regret it!

A Good Year For Wine-Ulta- ($8.00USD)- I know a lot of people are iffy about Ulta branded products, which I can understand. However, I have to say that Ulta knows what they are doing when it comes to their lip products. A Good Year for Wine is a burgundy toned lipstick with little gold reflects throughout it. The reflects are not chunky in the least and give this lipstick a duo-chrome finish, which looks amazing! It applies so smooth for a lipstick with glitter in it, the color payoff is awesome, and you can't beat the price! You will have to touch up this lipstick during the day but it fades nicely and reapplying it is no problem!

Wolvesmouth Studded Kiss Lipstick-Kat Von D- ($21.00USD)- Wolvesmouth is another Studded Kiss lipstick that just knocks it out of the park. It's a metallic berry color that is perfect for adding a little sparkle to an evening look(or day look, you do you!). As I said before in the review on "Cathedral", it applies so well, is crazy pigmented, and lasts an extremely long time, which is very surprising as it's technically not a matte formula. Definitely a great one to have in your fall lip collection.

Stirring Matte Lip Cream-Ulta- ($9.00USD)- This lip color is what I would call the perfect fall red lip. It's a deep blood red and is just to die for(see what I did there? Funny...no...okay). I know some people have an issue with this lip product applying patchy and while it does apply a little bit patchy you can definitely work with it to make it not patchy. The formula is a creamy, mousse like texture so it's very hydrating on the lips, which is awesome for a matte lip cream. I do recommend wearing a lip liner with this one as well, just to cut down on any patchiness and to make sure the product doesn't feather on the lip line. All in all, I think it's worth a try to see if you like the formula. Plus, again, you can't beat the price!

Allusive Matte Lip Cream-Ulta- ($9.00USD)- This color, to me, is another staple fall color. It's super dark and vampy, but very wearable. It's a plum tone and like I said in the review of Stirring, can apply a bit patchy. Again I will say the formula is just so nice and you can definitely work around the patchiness of the product by lining you lips with a lip liner.

Exorcism Everlasting Liquid Lipstick-Kat Von D- ($20.00USD)- I'm just gonna go ahead and throw this out there. If I were a witch this would be the lip color I would rock all the time. It's such a dark, vampy blackberry toned lip color(though it is NOT black, just a very dark burgundy) and it just reminds me of Halloween and witches. And when does Halloween take place? In the fall! Like I said before, Kat Von D Beauty's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are the BEST.ON.THE.MARKET. They do not budge, crack, wear off, anything. You can eat, drink, stand in a rainstorm and your lip color will not move. I would, definitely wear a lip liner with this color though, as it is a super dark color and you don't want that bleeding onto your face and/or foundation.

I hope ya'll enjoyed this super long post! My post with my drugstore/affordable fall lip products will be up in a few days! Once again, thank you for checking out my blog and don't forget to comment letting me know what some of your favorite fall lip products are!

Daytime Fall Makeup- ALL DRUGSTORE & WITH PRODUCTS REVIEWS!

Hey ya'll! First off, if you are viewing this post THANK YOU for taking the time out of your day to do so! I appreciate it so much!

Today's post is on a look I did recently on my Instagram(User name: kmchapman12). I wanted to do two fall makeup looks: one daytime appropriate, one very vampy and smoky and very dramatic. I decided that I wanted to use affordable makeup products to do both of these looks. The daytime look(which is the look in this post) I used affordable makeup that you could fine at your local drugstores(Walmart,CVS,Target,Walgreens...), and that the super dramatic look I'm going to use affordable makeup you can purchase online(Colourpop,MakeUp Geek, Morphe...). I am also going to do little mini reviews on the products I used in each post!

So now onto the details for this look!

This is the finished look above(sorry for the quality. I used the photo I posted online so this was taken with my handy, dandy iPhone).

The Base:
I used two different primers for my base.
L'Oreal Magic Lumi Face Primer- I LOVE this face primer. I use it in every look that I do to give myself a natural looking glow. I love the consistency of the primer itself and the fact that a little goes a LONG way. I also love that it gives you a natural looking glow, as opposed to other illuminating primers that can tend to make you shine bright like a diamond(but not in a good way). This is a holy grail makeup product for me. The price is right and it's just amazeballs. Check it out if you haven't already!

Maybelline Master Prime Blur+Smooth Primer- This primer was kind of a miss for me. I usually use two primers always. One to illuminate and one to smooth/fill in my pores and fine lines. I honestly didn't feel like this helped in the smoothing category for me at all. I had to use a lot more than I usually would have and I honestly felt like I could've used a face lotion and gotten the same results. The price was good but, to me, this is a case of you get what you pay for.
The Face:

Top Photo Products:
Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Foundation in 112 Natural Ivory- This is one of my favorite drugstore foundations. I have quite large pores on my cheeks and nose area and this smooths those away so perfectly. It isn't drying for me(which is surprising because I do have normal to dry skin) and is a medium coverage foundation. If you have issues with visible pores or you want a good matte foundation, I highly recommend this one.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer  in 10 Light- This concealer has it's goods and bads. It has a nice semi-creamy consistency so it goes on nice and blends out well. I'm super pale and they had a shade that worked well for me to conceal my blemishes. However, it did crease under my eyes, even with me setting it with a powder. So the price is right, you just might have to touch up under the eyes through out the day.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 001 Transparent- This is my favorite setting powder drugstore or high end. It works well and gives me a nice matte finish and it doesn't cling to my dry spots or settle into my pores or fine lines. I also use this powder to "bake" or cook" my face to sharpen my contour and find that it works great for that. It also smells really good(I know, that's weird). Definitely another holy grail product( Shout out to Tanya Burr for using that so much in her tutorials that I finally decided to give it a try!)
Bottom Photo Products:
Nyx High Definition Blush in "Taupe"- I used this blush to contour my face with. I am super pale so this color is perfect for me. However, if you are any darker than a fair skin tone this WILL NOT work as a contour shade for you. This was nicely pigmented, very easy to blend out, and worked very well as a contour shade for me. If you are pale like I am and are looking for a nice contour shade, this blush will be your best friend.

Elf Cosmetics blush in "Gotta Glow"- I know this says it's a "blush" but this is a straight up highlight, ya'll. It's a powder consistency and is a nice light yellow/almost white shade. A lot of people say it's a dupe for Nars' Albatross blush. I can't give you an opinion on that because I've never swatched Albatross, but I will say Gotta Glow will make you GLOW! Also, it's 3 DOLLARS so I would say it's a pretty good deal.

Milani Baked Blush in "Luminoso"- This is a cult favorite blush for a lot of beauty YouTubers and Beauty Instagrams and there is good reason why. This color is so pigmented, blends well, and a little goes a long way. It's a beautiful peachy pink color with a little sheen in it to make you look like you have healthy, glowing peachy pink cheeks. Definitely can understand why this blush is so raved about! Definitely another drugstore win!

N.Y.C. Sun n'Bronze powder in "Hamptons Radiance"- This bronzer is gorgeous! It reminds me a lot of Too Faced's "Snow Bunny" Luminous Bronzer. It's not super bronzy, which I like because I am, as I have said, super pale. A lot of times bronzers tend to look muddy on me, but not this one. It gave me just a hit of bronzeness with a nice little glow to go along with it. This bronzer also comes in a few other shades so I would definitely check it out if you are looking for an affordable, luminous bronzer!

The Eyes:
I used a few different shadows and palettes to get the eye look I was going for!
The Table of Contents for Abbreviations:
C-Crease
L-Lid
O.V.-Outer V of Lid
BB-Brow Bone Highlight
I.C.H.-Inner Corner Highlight

Nyx Wicked Dreams Palette(the biggest one)- I picked this palette up from Ulta a few months ago and never got around to using it so when I was looking for affordable eye shadows to use I pulled out this palette and saw a fair few colors that would work for the look I was doing. This palette is very versatile. It has 24 colors in it and they range from the palest of colors to the darkest. It also has a nice mixture or mattes, metallics, and shimmery eye shadows in it as well. I actually really liked this palette. It has some hits and misses to it, but I find the hits outweigh the misses enough for it to be worth purchasing. I used this palette mostly for my base colors and then went in with the other two products on top to get the look I was going for. Most of the shadows are very pigmented and blend easily, a couple of the more shimmery ones are a bit patchy though so you might have to go in with Mac Fix Plus on your brush to get the full power of those colors. I used this palette in my crease for my transition shades, on my lid to set a good base for the shimmery/metallic oranges I layered on top, as my brow bone highlight, and to deepen the purple color on my outer V with.

Maybelline Expert Wear Eye shadow quad in "Sandstone Shimmer"- I used this quad to add a bit of shimmer to my eye look. It's a decent quad if you want an all shimmery eye look. The colors aren't super pigmented, but layer nicely and blend out well. I didn't see any sort of patchiness with this quad that I have with other Maybelline eye shadows. I used the colors in this quad on my lid over the base that I created with the Nyx palette, as my inner corner highlight, and to add a bit of shimmer to my outer V area.

Milani Metallic Gel Powder Eye Shadow in "Bella Copper"- This eye shadow is the star of the show in this eye look. It's what I used on the first 3/4 of my lid and let me tell you, It is METALLIC. I used a flat eye shadow brush to apply this shadow with and feel like that works best with these shadows. They are super pigmented, super metallic, and very easy to blend as well. The color is a beautiful copper color and I feel like is perfect for fall. I know this is a difficult color by Milani to find, but I picked this one up at a CVS and also noticed that when I made another run to a different CVS they also had plenty of this color. This shadow is definitely a win for me!

L'Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara- This mascara is another holy grail makeup product for me. I love how this mascara gives me tons of length to my lashes and it never clumps. It's also super black! It doesn't give any added thickness to my lashes, which is fine because I have pretty thick lashes(thanks, Dad for the good eyelash gene! Love you!). Also the wand on this mascara is super unique.(Photo credit to Allure.com). I swear by this mascara. For me, it's the best drugstore mascara there is!

N.Y.C. City Proof Eyeliner in "Mink"- This is a lovely brown/bronze colored eyeliner. It has little teeny tiny specs of bronze glitter in it, but it's not over powering at all. It has a very creamy texture and glides on easily. It doesn't last all day so you will have to touch it up a couple times, but for the price I think it's definitely worth a try.

The Lips:

Nyx Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream in "Copenhagen"- Confession time: I own every single color of the Nyx's soft matte lip creams. I LOVE them. They go on like a dream, dry to a nice matte finish, aren't drying on the lips at all, and have a decent amount of staying time on the lips. The color, "Copenhagen", is a lovely plum color. It's the perfect daytime fall lip color. And like I said above, it is just amazing quality!

So all in all, I really enjoyed creating this look and most of the products used in this look! Once again, thank you for checking out my blog and don't forget to follow(if you'd want to) and comment below with some of your favorite drugstore makeup products!
